Dr. Irina Mützelburg

Biography

Irina Mützelburg is a political scientist and, since September 2021, a researcher at ZOiS. She is a postdoctoral researcher in the German-French (ANR-DFG) project LimSpaces, which she also co-coordinates. Within this framework, she studies the educational situation of young people from Ukraine who are currently staying in Germany. She is also an associate researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch (Berlin), the Centre de recherches internationales (Paris) and the Institut Convergences Migrations (Paris). Before joining ZOiS, she worked as a lecturer and researcher in political sociology at Sciences Po Lyon (2019–2021) and on the Master in European Studies programme at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder (2018–2019). She completed her PhD on international norm and policy transfer in the field of asylum in Ukraine at Sciences Po Paris in 2019. In 2022 she published her book Transferring Asylum Norms to EU Neighbours with Palgrave Macmillan.
