Research workshop kicks off new project phase

11/12/2023

On December 8-9, the MoveMeRU team, joined by a group of outstanding researchers, convened for a project workshop. The guests were the project's ethics advisor Samuel Greene, the supervisor of the project dissertation, Florian Töpfl, and the political scientist Katerina Tertytchnaya. The focus was on refining research design, survey and focus group methodologies, specific questionnaire development, and discussions about the media analysis-oriented PhD project. Ethical considerations were also addressed, paving the way for the project's future phases. Notably, the workshop proved instrumental in aligning the project's trajectory and laying the groundwork for upcoming fieldwork scheduled for the next year.

A noteworthy precursor to the workshop was a public panel discussion organized in collaboration with Bosch Academy on December 7. Titled "War, Memory, and Emotions: Decoding Europe's Responses to the War in Ukraine," the event featured insightful talks by Polish journalist Karolina Wigura and Jean P Froehly as a representative of the Federal Foreign Office. This public discourse provided additional context and diverse perspectives, enriching the subsequent workshop discussions. The combined insights from the panel discussion and the workshop have significantly contributed to ensuring the project stays on track and is well-prepared for the next research phase.
