Biography

Veronika Pfeilschifter is a social scientist with a political science background. She joined ZOiS’s Youth in an Generational Change Research Cluster in September 2022. She is also a doctoral candidate and research associate at the Institute for Caucasus Studies at Friedrich Schiller University (FSU) Jena. Her main research interest is intra-societal development in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, with a particular focus on youth. In 2021, she was awarded a Master’s degree from the IMCEERES graduate programme at the University of Glasgow, University of Tartu and Ilia State University, Tbilisi. Before that, she studied Political Science and European Ethnology at the University of Regensburg and Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Her previous roles, held in parallel to her academic studies, include supporting the Head of PEN America’s Eurasia Department (New York/Tbilisi) as a human rights consultant and interning at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung South Caucasus Office in Tbilisi.
