Biography

Ákos Kopper has been working at ZOiS as a senior Humboldt Research Fellow since October 2022. His research focuses on  cooperation between authoritarian regimes and citizens’ resistance to authority. Before coming to ZOiS, he worked at Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary and at the Central European University in Vienna as a visiting professor. He contributed to the work of the Central Eastern European International Studies Association for eight years as its board member, and was an editor of the Association’s  Journal of International Relations and Development for five years. Alongside his interest in East Central Europe, he also studies diplomacy, security, visuals and East Asian international relations. He has published in outlets such as the European Journal of International Relations, the International Studies Review, Millennium and Cooperation and Conflict.
