The right headline can make all the difference! In this session, participants learned how to craft engaging, clear, and attention-grabbing headlines for both academic and non-academic texts. Through examples and exercises, they discovered how to balance precision and intrigue in order to draw readers in.

Annette Riedl

Stefanie Orphal studied German Literature, Media Studies and Economics in Potsdam and Paris. From 2009 to 2012, she was a graduate student at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School for Literary Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. She completed her PhD in 2012 with a dissertation on poetryfilms, a genre of short films based on poetry, which was published in 2013. From 2013 to 2016, Orphal worked at the Halle Institute for Economic Studies (IWH) as a public relations officer. She has been Communications Director at ZOiS since February 2017.
