MoveMeRU Team travelling to Estonia
From 9 to 12 June, Félix Krawatzek and Hakob Matevosyan will be in Estonia to present the findings of the MoveMeRU research project and to engage in discussions with local academics and politicians.
On Tuesday 9 June, the programme includes a meeting with the German Ambassador, Jan Scheer, as well as meetings with staff from the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, and Ministry of Education and Research.
On Wednesday, there will be a discussion with the Estonian branch of UNHCR before Hakob Matevosyan travels on to Tartu for the Conference on East European and Eurasian Studies. There, on 10 June from 14:30 to 16:15, he will chair the session “Sovereignty in Grassroots Nationalism and Indigenous Politics”, and on 11 June from 11:15 to 13:00, as part of the session “Temporary Protection and the EU Border Regime: Solidarity, Discrimination, and Agency among Recent Waves of Migrants and Refugees Session‘, he will present his paper entitled ’Who’s Welcome? Security, Soviet Memories, and the Estonian Refugee Dilemma".
On 12 June at 3 pm, Hakob will also present the ZOiS report on MoveMeRU research in Estonia at the Centre of Excellence for Strategic Sustainability at the University of Tartu.
