Russia Germans – Life and Social Participation in Germany

The Potsdam-Süd SPD local association has invited Félix Krawatzek to give a lecture on the topic of ‘Russia Germans - Life and Social Participation in Germany’. Russia Germans are also an important aspect of our research, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to discuss some of our findings with a wider audience at this event.

The event will focus on a population group that has been an integral part of German society for decades, yet often remains largely invisible. Together, we will explore the question of who Russia Germans actually are, what legal regulations determine their special status, and how many of them live in Germany (and Potsdam) today. In addition, we will examine the challenges and opportunities associated with their integration and social participation and the perspectives this opens up for coexistence.
