All Roads Lead to…the Family? Political Socialisation Among Migrants and Non-Migrants

From 28 to 30 April 2025, the MoveMeRU team at ZOiS will host a conference on ‘All Roads Lead to...the Family? Political Socialisation Among Migrants and Non-Migrants.’

Our conference will explore how political and social views are passed down between generations, both in families with and without a migration background. The focus will be on historical, political and social issues.
Particular attention will be paid to the differences and similarities between migrant and non-migrant groups and the social contexts in which political socialisation takes place.

The conference will bring together scholars from Europe and North America and will comprise six thematic panels.

The event is by invitation only, excluding the opening evening. The aim is to publish selected contributions in a special issue.
