Residencies for Guest Researchers at ZOiS

The Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) offers researchers the opportunity to undertake longer residencies as part of external funding programmes (e.g. Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Erasmus+, Max Weber Program, DAAD, MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships). These stays are intended to forge lasting connections and further the internationalisation of research at ZOiS. In addition to working on their own projects, visiting researchers enter into an intensive dialogue with ZOiS researchers and are encouraged to present their research findings at the ZOiS colloquium.

To be selected, your research project should be a good fit with ZOiS's medium-term research plan and be thematically relevant to one of the research clusters.

Applications for a residency and requests for a letter of intent with ZOiS as the host institution can be submitted twice a year.

Required documents

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Letter of motivation stating the research cluster in which the project is best situated
  • Description of the research project (max. 3 pages)

Applications should be sent in a single PDF file with the subject line "FellowshipZOiS" to bewerbung(at)zois-berlin(dot)de. You will receive confirmation of receipt once your application has been received. Applications will then be reviewed and you will receive a response at the latest by 31 March or 30 September of the current year.
