ZOiS Lecture Series in cooperation with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Chair: Gwendolyn Sasse (ZOiS/Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin)

In its first online lecture series, ZOiS is showcasing social science research on Ukraine. Organised in cooperation with the Department of Social Sciences (ISW), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the series coincides with the German academic summer semester, but is open to all. The coverage of Russia's war against Ukraine has demonstrated a widespread lack of knowledge about Ukrainian society and politics, and research on Ukraine has often been treated as a niche topic within the social sciences. This lecture series assembles an international cast of social scientists, among them many scholars from Ukraine, who have collected and analysed empirical data on Ukraine for many years. They will address aspects of the war but also long-term political and societal trends.
