20 seconds per slide, 20 slides per presentation and lots of room for creativity in between – that is the framework set by the PechaKucha format. On the first evening of the ZOiS annual conference, postgraduate students will present their projects in 7-minute presentations. The topics include migrants from Ukraine, the postcolonial view on Poland, the discourse around Montenegro's national language, climate change in the Ferghana Valley, and the role of the internet in Russian propaganda. In a dozen presentations, the evening will showcase the diversity of methods, perspectives, topics and disciplines that make East European studies so interesting.

This event will be followed by a reception.

To make our programme more accessible to parents, we offer free professional child care during the event. To register, please send an e-mail at events(at)zois-berlin(dot)de until 12. November, stating the age(s) of your child(ren).

This is a public event, no registration required.
