On 8 and 9 October 2026, the German Association for East European Studies (DGO), the Freie Universität Berlin and the The Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) will host the Congress of Central and East European Studies (ceecon26) in Berlin. ceecon is the largest multidisciplinary congress in the German-speaking world dedicated to the study of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Bringing together scholars from around 30 countries, the congress showcases the latest research on the region and provides a forum for international academic exchange.
Under this year's theme, "(Un)Certainties", ceecon26 explores the social and geopolitical uncertainties shaped by regional conflicts and wars, global crises, and challenges to the international order. Across more than 70 panels, a keynote lecture and discussions, the program offers interdisciplinary perspectives on one of the most pressing issues facing the region today.
Whether you are a researcher, practitioner, early-career scholar or student interested in the region, ceecon26 offers a unique opportunity to engage with leading experts, discover emerging research, and expand your international network.
Registration is now open and participation is free of charge. Register here.
