Postdoctoral Researcher in the ERC-funded Project MoveMeRu
ZOiS is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to assist the Principal Investigator in the ERC-funded project MoveMeRU. The researcher will start on 1 February 2023. The contract lasts three years and can be renewed for one additional year. The salary is based on the E13 salary scale of the collective agreement for the civil service (TVöD).

Poetry and Protest. 'Bloody January' in Kazakhstan's Contemporary Poetry

After the suppression of the January protests, many Kazakhstani poets took to social media to express their thoughts. This ZOiS Report includes a small selection of these poems in German translation and a literary analysis. A central theme is the internet lockdown that caused many poets to express their discontent with the political restrictions and desire for change that was accompanied by criticism of former President Nazarbayev.
