Russia’s war against Ukraine has brought horrible suffering to people in Ukraine. Far less is known about its impact on Russian communities outside of Russia. Latvia’s large ethnic Russian population is increasingly isolated since February 2022 – with worrying consequences for societal cohesion.
In this ZOiS Report, we show which research ethics challenges have arisen or intensified with Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine. Using concrete examples we present problems, negotiation processes and possible solutions.
The Ukraine Recovery Conference on 11–12 June emphasised the need to involve a broad range of societal stakeholders in Ukraine’s recovery. But the implementation of this principle at the intersection of the country’s processes of recovery and EU accession is far from straightforward.
This improvisational theatre performance is linked to a research project that accompanies refugees from and in Ukraine from their place of origin to their place of arrival. It investigates and visualises the experiences of displacement and arrival as well as questions of identity and the sense of belonging.
