"DAAD to Fund Competence Network for Interdisciplinary Ukraine Studies (KIU) in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin"
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has awarded the Competence Network for Interdisciplinary Ukraine Studies (KIU) in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin the contract for the establishment of a Ukraine Centre. Initiated and managed by the European University Viadrina, the Competence Network comprises the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS), Humboldt University of Berlin, the Freie Universität Berlin, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the Wissenschaftskolleg Berlin.

ZOiS undergoes successful evaluation
First Evaluation of the Institute Completed
Six years after its foundation in 2016, ZOiS was evaluated for the first time by an independent international commission. The Evaluation Report highlights the importance of the institute in the field of social science research on Eastern Europe and its success in acquiring third-party funding.
