Im Gespräch mit Michael Kimmage

In his compelling new book "Collisions: The War in Ukraine and the Origins of the New Global Instability" (Oxford University Press 2024), Michael Kimmage traces the origins of Russia’s war against Ukraine and tells the history of the current war through the lens of three collisions between Russia and Ukraine, the United States and Europe in 2008-2013, 2013-2021 and 2021-2023. In conversation with ZOiS Director Gwendolyn Sasse, he will unpack these collisions and analyse the far-reaching global impacts of this war, such as the fragmentation of international politics, higher inflation, greater food insecurity, and the general collapse of global arms control. These intersecting dangers, Kimmage argues, amount to a new age of global instability.
